Privacy Policy

ZapConvert (https://zapconvert.app) is operated by TeaGee Labs (ABN 72 539 682 904), based in Australia. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles and, for visitors in the EEA and UK, the GDPR. Contact us at [email protected].

• Browser tools (marked “100% In-Memory”) convert the file inside your tab. It is never uploaded, and we cannot see it.
• Server tools (marked “High-Speed Hardware Node”: Office documents, PDF to Word and Excel, audio and video) send the file over an encrypted connection to our conversion servers. It is held in memory only, never written to disk, never logged and never viewed, and is deleted the moment the converted file is returned. Files up to 100 MB are accepted.
• We do not use your files to train models, build profiles or for any purpose other than the conversion you asked for.

• Technical logs. Our hosting may record your IP address, browser type and request times to keep the service secure and prevent abuse. These logs are kept for no longer than 30 days.
• Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your email address, country, the plan you bought and limited card details (brand and last four digits) so we can provide receipts, refunds and key recovery. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Emails you send us, kept only as long as needed to help you.

We do not run analytics, tracking pixels or session recording.

ZapConvert sets no cookies of its own. It keeps up to three small values in your browser’s local storage:

• your ad-free key, if you bought one, so you stay ad-free on return visits;
• the time a pop-under ad last opened, so ads are not shown more than once every 30 minutes;
• your ad consent choice, if you were asked for one.

Clearing your browser data removes them. Ad networks may set their own cookies, described below.

The free version is funded by ads from third-party networks, currently Adsterra and PropellerAds. Their scripts run in your browser and may use cookies, your IP address and device information to show and measure ads, under their own privacy policies. They never receive your files.

Where the law requires it, such as in the EEA and UK, we ask for your consent before any ad script loads. You can change your choice at any time with “Ad preferences” in the site footer. With an ad-free plan, or on a self-hosted instance, no ad scripts load at all.

• Stripe, to process payments.
• The ad networks above, which collect data directly from your browser.
• Our hosting provider, which runs the servers.
• Authorities, only where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information. Some of these providers are outside Australia (for example in the United States); we only use providers that protect data to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. In the EEA and UK you can also restrict processing, request portability and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your local data protection authority.

ZapConvert is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
