Terms of Service

ZapConvert converts, compresses and edits files. Most tools run in your browser; some run on our servers, as described in our Privacy Policy. The converters are free to use and supported by ads. We may add, change or remove tools at any time.

• Your files and the converted results remain yours. We claim no rights over them.
• For server tools, you allow us to process the file only to produce the result you asked for.
• You must have the right to convert any file you use, and must not use ZapConvert to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
• Keep your own copy of important files. Results are provided as they are, and conversions can occasionally lose formatting.

You agree not to:

• send automated or bulk requests to our servers, or use them as an API for another product;
• try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• upload malware or content that is illegal to possess or distribute;
• copy, forge, share publicly or resell ad-free keys.

We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.

• Plans are bought through Stripe and delivered as a key stored in your browser. No account is needed. Keep a copy of your key; if you lose it, use “Lost your key?” under Restore key with your checkout email and card, or email us.
• Monthly and Yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled. The Lifetime Pass is a single payment.
• Keys are for your personal use on your own devices. A Lifetime key also unlocks Self-Hosted Pro on servers you run yourself.
• We may deactivate a key that is refunded, disputed, forged or shared publicly. Cancellation and refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
• Prices are in US dollars. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout. We will give notice before changing the price of a subscription.

The self-hosted edition runs on your own hardware, and you are responsible for operating and securing it. Third-party components keep their own licences, listed on the open source page.

We work to keep ZapConvert fast and available, but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits them. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data or profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of the laws where you live.
